I can not believe the time has come. Your kiddos are off and ready for first grade!
I wanted to start by saying THANK YOU! I am waiting to open all the handmade cards and gifts for tomorrow morning when I should be seeing all of my friends! It will be a beautiful way to continue to reflect all that has come out of this year.
I wanted to thank all of you from the bottom of my heart for making our last day so magical. I was truly at a loss for words as the day unfolded.
We had a beautiful last class meeting where we all reflected on the treasures that came out of our first year of being together. We made a web of stories and moments of the year. Then we held onto our piece tight as Ms. Huffman cut the string, sending us off to first grade. Ready for new learning and new experience, but holding on tight to the memory we made here together. From there, we turned up the Beetles and had a cleaning party with some dancing sprinkled in. :)
Our picnic in the park did not happen, but we enjoyed eating in the classroom and watching a Tumble Book. An extended choice time, some recess and a big THANK YOU at the end.
We read Piggie and Elephant's final book in the series to end the day. Although the surprises did not stop there! Thank you to all the parents who came and for the wonderful slide show provided by Christa.
Thank you again for all of the love, support and for allowing me to be a part of your child's first year at QAE. I am truly honored and humbled by the experience.
